Learn the art of beautiful metal work embroidery by making this delightful brooch in the lovely city of Exeter.
In the morning you will be taught the basics of metal thread work including when to wax your thread,
how to use and couch pearl purl and how to work with chips.
The afternoon will be spent making the embroidery into a brooch, including applying a decorative beaded edge.
Choose from cream, dark blue or burgundy background brooch colours
and a choice of gold, silver or copper metal threads. Please advise when booking.
There will be an hour’s break for lunch at 1pm. Coffee, tea and biscuits are included in the class price. There are shops nearby for lunch, but it may be easier to bring a packed lunch.
This is a wonderful opportunity to learn a traditional hand embroidery technique, one of many under the umbrella of whitework, in the relaxing environment of Exeter Community Centre, situated in the lovely city of Exeter.
