A one of a kind lampshade designed and hand embroidered in the pulled thread whitework technique by a trained Royal School of Needlework Graduate Apprentice.
White stranded cotton was used on a natural coloured evenweave linen to portray the beautiful swirling undulating ivy leaves and tendrils. Numerous different pulled thread patterns are used for the leaves, resulting in a beautiful lacy finish, which is highlighted even further when the lamp is on and the light shines through the lacy patterns. Due to the amount of work involved in this lampshade, only one is available.
The lampshade is designed to be used as a table lamp and has a UK fitment.
The lampshade is 21cm high, 97 cm in circumference and 30cm in diameter.
It is recommended that this shade is used with a low energy bulb which as well as being better for the environment, it is also cooler to the touch minimising any risk of scorching. The lampshade kit materials have been tested and passed the glow wire test carried out by the Lighting Association.
